How to Wish Someone a Happy St. Patrick’s Day in Gaelic!

Gaelic is the beautiful, complicated and widely under-appreciated native language of Ireland.

The earliest written records of Gaelic appear from the early 13th century until the 19th; during this time, a shift in Ireland occurred that made English the primary spoken language, breaking away from established Irish-speaking areas.

Today, we’d like to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day by sharing a traditional Irish Gaelic blessing:

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day from your Language Department! ☘
